After growing up in rural Utah, I completed a degree in biology at the University of Utah and a Master of Science degree in Reproductive Physiology at Utah State. The research for this degree required working with large goat herds in the Central Valley of California. I recorded the normal reproductive cycle in goats and investigated means to change the seasonal nature of this cycle. After completing this work, I became a research associate and teaching assistant in the School of Veterinary Medicine at U.C. Davis. I was accepted into the UCD School of Veterinary Medicine in 1980. After graduation in 1984, I moved to Loveland with my husband, Dr. Ray Whalen. Over the past 23 years, I have enjoyed working with both large and small animals in this community. I live on the outskirts of Loveland with my husband, one dog, and two cats. I have two children, Devin and Briana, in college. My family has been an important part of the construction, maintenance, and ongoing work at the Blue Sky Animal Clinic.

I was born and raised in the mountains of northern New Mexico. I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from New Mexico State University in 1986. I was employed by IBM as a computer programmer in San Jose CA and then in Boulder Colorado before deciding to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. I graduated from the professional veterinary medicine program at CSU in 2002. I'm fortunate to have been an employee of Dr. Romm's in some capacity for the past 13 years and thrilled to be part of the outstanding health care team at Blue Sky. I live west of Loveland with my husband Matthew, one Siberian husky, three cats, two llamas, five goats, and various numbers of pet ducks!

I grew up in rural Nebraska, and in 1994 I earned a degree in anthropology at the University of Texas at Austin. I graduated from Colorado State University in 2001 with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine as valedictorian of my class. During that time, I worked on a NIH project designed to better understand and treat cancer in the dog. Since 2002, I have been happy to be a part of the skilled, caring staff at Blue Sky Animal Clinic! My husband, Mike; sons, Daniel, Matthew, and David; and I currently live in the foothills west of Berthoud. We share the house with five cats - Zeus, McCavity, Greta, Gus, and Little Cat; two dogs – Mulligan and Nigel; Zippy, the hermit crab; Ally and Wolfram, our leopard geckos; Rico, the green anole; and our guinea pigs, Rocky and Squeaker.

I was born in Illinois and raised in Texas. I completed my undergraduate education at the University of Texas at Austin in 1999, graduating summa cum laude with a BS in Zoology. I then attended veterinary school at Texas A&M University, graduating magna cum laude in 2003. Following graduation from vet school, I moved to Colorado and began my career at Blue Sky Animal Clinic. I feel both fortunate and proud to be a member of the competent and compassionate team here at Blue Sky. I currently live in Longmont with my husband (Matt), two sons (Noah and Micah), and two cats (Pascal and Buster). On my days off I enjoy rock climbing, hiking, gardening and chasing after my two boys.
